If you are then this article is for you. I know I am speaking to an international audience, so I will not address the personal assistance that you may or may not get from your government. What I would address is that there are options for you that you may not have considered.
Disabled Veterans & Military Spouses in my opinion are mislabeled. Most are in the situation they are because they were able to do something that the majority of the world was unable to do. I guess that makes the rest of the world disabled, lol. Today I want to discuss the many options that are open for those that have limitations that many others do not have to deals with. Our difficulties do not define us nor should they limit us. Instead, they should drive us to seek out opportunities we may otherwise not see.

You must have understood that I do not see you as limited. All I see is that your situation tells you to be more focused about your options. I have met people who have climbed a mountain without legs and have become adept at table tennis without arms!

1. Speaker
Maybe you can't walk, maybe you can't catch a ball or hug your loved one... but can you give an encouraging word or inspire someone? If you have the ability to get up every day and deal with what you're going through, can you be an inspiration to another who struggles? Yes!
There are many places that are actively looking for people like you to come and talk to your community such as schools, churches, clubs, organizations, and even corporations. And yes, they will pay you! This is often called speaker fee or honorarium. See who you can inspire and where they can turn, and then let the leader know you're ready to negotiate.
2. Mentorship
I am not sure if you are aware of this but people would pay an incredible amount for a great advisor to work with them both professionally and personally. I have been personally paid over $10,000 by a person to receive mentorship from me. Can you help someone on their way? Can you guide them through the development of a specific process or area?
As a veteran I believe you can do that for the simple reason that you have overcome and accomplished what even most in the world are afraid to try!
3. Salesperson
If you think people are going to let you down because of your challenges, drop that thought. Those that don't deserve the air you leave. The rest will praise you for moving forward to meet your challenge. Selling is one of the most respectable avenues, if you ask me. You see, ethical selling is nothing more than simply helping others see value and choose to act on what will benefit them the most.
If you believe in a product or service, you are already selling it. In fact, look around you, people are selling what they believe in all day long. Why not get paid for doing this?
4. Writer
You are in demand all over the world if you can write a complete sentence clearly. You might think I'm kidding, but go online and check out all the poorly written articles, offers, and sales pages. Did you know that one of the highest paid forms of writing belongs to a copywriter? Yes, you can really make an extraordinary income selling other people's stuff!
"I'm not a good writer," you say.
So know how It's a very learnable skill that you can learn for free if you're willing to do a little research.
5. Fitness Trainer
Chances are that being a veteran has given you the opportunity to learn a lot about fitness and motivation. One of the most valuable things you can give on this earth is health if you are willing to teach this to others. It is one of the highest earning markets today. Health and fitness continues to rank among the top earning sectors worldwide. Can you help them on their journey?
6. Mechanic
I know this might sound a bit long for some of you, but if a man can climb a mountain without legs... what's stopping you from fixing a car if you really want to?
