Akshay Kumar also had to change the title of his film Lakshmi after heavy protests. The film was a remake of the Tamil hit Muni2- Kanchana and was earlier titled Laxmi Bomb which was strongly opposed in social media. (Durgavati Poster Photo Credit: Twitter)
Bhoomi Pednekar's film 'Durgamati- The Myth' produced by Akshay Kumar is also walking the path of OTT. The film will be released on December 11 on Amazon Prime Video. This information has already reached you, but the new update is that the release date has been told after making a slight change in the title of the film.
Akshay now shared this information with his fans by sharing the first look poster of the film. Akshay tweeted- Are you ready? Meet Durgamati on Prime Video on 11 December. Let me tell you, Bhumi Pednekar is in the lead role in the film. It is a remake of the Tamil-Telugu film Bhagmati, directed by G. Ashok. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar along with Bhushan Kumar. In the film, Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mahi Gill, Karan Kapadia will be seen in important roles. Bhoomi will be seen playing the same role in the film, which was played by Anushka Shetty in the original. Anushka played the role of an administrative officer in Bhagmati. Bhagmati is a terrific horror-thriller film.
After the uproar over the title of Lakshmi, the makers are now following the steps. Therefore, the title has been changed as a precautionary measure before the release of Durgamati. The film was earlier titled 'Durgavati', which has now been changed to 'Durgamati - The Myth'. The myth has also been added so that there is no misconception of any kind.
Let us know that from the announcement of the film till the release of the information on Prime Video on 9 October, its title was 'Durgavati', but now it has been 'Durgamati'. The reason for this has not been given, but it is believed that the makers may have done this to avoid any controversy because there is also a historical character by the same name. At the same time, there is a similarity between Durgamati and Bhagmati.
Are you ready?.

Earlier, Akshay had to change the title of his film Lakshmi after heavy opposition. The film was a remake of the Tamil hit Muni2- Kanchana and was earlier titled Laxmi Bomb, which was strongly opposed in social media. Some organizations also objected to the film, after which the film was titled Lakshmi before its release on Disney Plus Hotstar on 9 November. The bomb was dropped from the title.
